Illumination for rev-counter and speedo failed; as with previous correspondents I was driving at night having to gauge my speed by sonar.

Having removed the driver’s-side loudspeaker I peered through the windscreen and within the speaker aperture spotted the two bulbholders on the upper left and right: aha, they look easy enough to take out. Were they thump: I couldn’t budge them. I’m ham-fisted and do tend to break things, so after twisting the bulbholders this way and that left it.

That night I was surprised to see both clocks cheerily lit: neither bulb had failed. But when they do, as they will, how do I remove them, please? Can someone describe the art that, so far, evades me?

They come out on a quarter turn. Can't remember if clockwise or anti-clockwise, but they do need persuasion. If you have some short and think pliers, it should be possible to start them off as they live aligned "north-south" and come out aligned "east-west". Hope his helps.
