whilst having a browse at the abbott site,i saw something that i didnt know existed!.it was a DI/APC upgrade for 1985-1993 9000,s!!.it was £295 and adds 40 g g,s.now could i be silly enough to think this might work on my cs carly??

Yes, these things exist. I have something similar in my '90 2.0 FPT. Mine was referred to as "The Tuning Kit". Can you believe after 3 years I still havn't looked at it?

Still, managed to hold my own against a Bentley last year, so something must be in there!

Yes, Abbott are one of the few tuners that offer upgrades for LH/DI.

They say for DI/APC.. but DI/APC wasnt untill the LH 2.42 ECU, which was '89 or so... i want to know whether they have something for the '87 LH2.2/APC the one i have!
