Yeah, I've had this one bookmarked for a while now. It makes very interesting reading.
It's also the reason why I certainly won't be going near anything with EBC on the box when it's time to replace my current set.
/edit: It's worth noting that the FTO is also a bit lighter than then the average Saab (from memory around late 1200's to early 1300), so any results from a heavier car will be even worse
I had not heard much good about the EBCs also. That is why I steered clear of them. I currently use Hawk HPS pads on the front and would highly recommend them. I stuck to stock pads in the back as it really doesn't seem to matter.
I use EBC Greenstuff in my Caterham - excellent bite from cold, ideal for sprint/hillclimb and road use BUT it's a very light car (500kg). They don't stand up well to heavy circuit work (fine for a few laps, then they overheat and produce copious amounts of dust).
I've heard very good things about Pagid RS14 pads (no data in the table on Leon's link).
A while back I needed pads so I tried EBC Greenstuff on the front, and hated them so much that after 2 weeks I pulled them off and went back to OEM pads. Just yesterday, I needed new front rotors (they'd been worn to 21.8mm thick, which is below the 22mm minimum safe thickness), and decided it was a good idea to put new pads on with new rotors so they bed in together, and again have chosen a set of OEMs. Also went with OEM rotors after a good bit of research, over the Zimmerman cross-drilled I'd been thinking of, since the stock brakes on my 9-3 were already so good. (Lots of fast road use, very little track use, so they're a good fit.)
