Hi does anyone have the base boost and max boost levels for a 1990 2.0l Carlsson??

I have just fitted a boost guage and I get

-0.5 bar @ idle
0.5 bar @ 3000 revs dropping as revs increase

Doesn't feel/seem correct. The car used to attack the red on the std guage with only half throttle, now i give it WOT and it touches the red and then starts to drop??

Hi,

The 2.3T Carly runs at 1.00bar - so you shouldnt be far from that figure.

Your base boost should be 0.34 - 0.37Bar

So - either the base boost is too high and its causing the peak boost to be retarded, but 0.5bar max seems to extreme even for that.

Alternatively the wastegate rod has come loose (see link), or APC solenoid is dead and base boost is all you'll ever get. (there may be other reasons too)

Hi So around 1.0 bar max ??
I did Search the forums and thought around 1.0 bar but couldn't find exact figures for my car. is there a link/chart/table somewhere for this?

I checked the wastegate rod last night and it seems fine. I have a spare APC solenoid so I'll change that over. cheers C

According to the 1990 Carlsson brochure 1990 Carlsson brochure (specifications) maxmum boost is 0.85 bar.

a 2.0 litre carly runs about 0.85 bar.
a 2.3 litre carly runs about 1.00 bar.

Auto's run 0.75-0.77 bar
