Had a gentle drive into work today as it was so cold and icey, but when I stopped at some traffic lights in Norwich, I was greeted by a thick grey mist in the mirror.

Turbo I thought

Bought some spare oil and water for the 35 mile drive home, and the cloud cleared up

Then 10 miles from home it started to smoke while lifting off and when accelerating.

5 miles from home the low rad light comes on.

I stop and add the 1.5 litres of volvic water i'd bought which just filled it to the bottom of the header tank.

Drive the last 5 miles, and just as I get home the low rad light comes on again.

No, no warnings what so ever, just like the C900S 16v earlier this year....

By the time I'd got it the last mile or so from hime it was beginning to miss on 1 cylinder below 1500rpm.

Above 1500rpm it still drives well.

Hopefully it's not erroded the head or block back any

A full headgasket kit is about £68, and it's 1-2 evening's work.

I've been recommended to do / have done the chains too, the were last done at 60,000m, it's now at 177,000m

First quick look seems to indicate Cylinder 1, next to the timing chains.
