I have a 2001 9-3 with AS3 and have noticed a "buzz" from all left channel speakers.

It is only noticeable when using the CD changer as the source. Both the radio and cabin CD player are fine.

The noise varies with audio volume and also changes pitch on acceleration and when using other electrical equipment, eg. wipers

Any ideas on what the cuase of this might be?

You can start by looking at the multi pin lead that connects the head unit to the CD changer. Check that the leads is sitting as far in as possible. I would suggest that you even unplug the lead, then re-fit it. With a bit of luck, it could be just that. I have seen instances where people have put/removed things from the boot and accidentally disturbed the lead, thus causing all sorts of problems with the changer.

Thanks guys

As with many problems in life, a bit of a fiddle and it all works out.

The lead is connected to the underside of the changer and has a small securing catch at either side of the connector block to make sure it "clicks" into place. Neither of these catches was in, making me wonder if they ever have been.

This possibly ranks as my easiest fix ever.
