In the last few months a strange noise has developed behind my dash ( the centre air vents to be precise ).
When I have the climate control turned on and I go round a corner it sounds like there is a load of sand 'sloshing' around behind the dash. At the same time the blower loses its power. When the car
straightens out the noise goes and the blower goes back to normal.
This does not mainfest itself when the ACC is turned off. The car is a 96 9000 cse. As far as I know the air con has never been re-charged or seviced.
Has anyone ever experienced this problem ?

I've heard of this problem but never experienced (yet!). Apparently it is caused by play in the bearings of the blower motor allowing the impellor to foul the casing though I'm not sure why, in your case, it should only happen when the ACC is on. Perhaps there is a build up of ice reducing the clearances?
