It's a small thing, but the AM (i.e. MW & LW) reception on my factory fitted unit is terrible!

You can tune to stations, and just about hear them, but it sounds like a ZX Spectrum loading a program, if anyone else is the right age to know what that sounds like

Any idea why this should be?

I'm no expert, but I would suggest that the radio is duff. MW/LW should get stronger (albeit poorer quality) reception with a poor aerial.

Think I read somewhere that a dodgy rear window demister can effect AM reception. Sounds odd but there you go. Can't even remember where I read it.

On my last 9K, the radio reception (FM) got noiser when you turned on the demister... so there may be something in that. I'll investigate...
