I've noticed that cranking turnover has been a bit sluggish these last couple of days and this morning, looking at the voltmeter, it was registering 13.0V, with headlights on. Turn them off, it goes up to 13.6.

Sounds to me therefore that the alternator may be feeling a bit sick- does anyone know of any specs/diagnostics that can determine the possible problem? (Bushes?)

(1993 CS 2.3T)

Thanks

Tell tale early sign of worn bushes is the battery light will stay on after start up and then go out after the first prod of the accelerator. The bushes are only making intermittent contact and the extra vibration helps them along. But I don't think that's your problem.

Check the alternator’s external wiring for loose connections (especially a faulty earth) apart from that I can't really think. TBO if you're running with the lights on, ACC and stereo you're never going to see much above 13.6 volts.
