As my engine is out of the frame,and dismantaled,I would like to clean things up,does anyone know the best way of cleaning the ally?
Gunk is as much use as a chocolate fire guard.

Check on the can first- some of these products are not suitable for use with aluminium and will leave you with a bloomy surface that will attract more muck quicker than you can say "Two pints of lager and a packet of crisps please..."


edit- Gunk will remove the surface muck/oil but won't get the alloy shiney again. Try brasso and a fine brush...
