Hello Everyone:

Not a newbie, but replaced my air filter on my 9000CDE turbo this afternoon. Didn't remember how the old one was positioned.

The filter is cylinder shaped and I put the open end in first(facing the left front fender) and the closed end of the filter facing the engine.
Now this seems reasonable since the air intake come from under the right front fender. But I question the closed end facing the engine(turbo)
as I would think the flow of air would be restrictive.

Questions: Did I install this air filter correctly.

Any confirmation would be greatly appreciated.

Robert:

Thank you for the reply....I tried to start the car and, of course, it would not start with the closed end toward the engine. Suprising that one can repair just about anything needed on his Saab, but goes brain dead on a simple air filter.

Thanks again.
