As a follow up to the 'In the news' topic, I saw that one of the news items on the BBC site was about a recall of '92-'94 MY 9000's by Saab to fix an Air-Bag problem.
Does anyone know what this was exactly? Also, would it be best to speak to Saab directly to check this work was done? Would they have any record of it so far down the road? (The recall ws in '99).

Would that have been "Recall - Air Bag Control Module Moisture Damage", announced in June 1999?

I believe it was down to the heater matrix leaking onto the SRS ECU, causing damage to the ECU. The fix was to fit a plastic cover over the ECU to protect it from moisture. I have heard that people have had the heater matrix replaced under the recall if it was leaking but I don't know whether that's true and if so, I don't know if it applied in the UK.
