Hiya, I have posted below: http://www.saabscene.co.uk/ubb/ultimatebb....ic;f=2;t=003739

Anyway, I bought one!! Chuffed to bits, owner says that it has a couple of power amps under the passenger seat for the stereo, is that normal?? I am planning to change the head unit form the RC that is fitted to a CD unit I've got. Will these power amps cause any problems, i.e. rewiring of the system to adapt to the new head unit, I'm not phased by this task, just interested. Ta very much

mowgli,

Not sure about Aeros but the the amp in my '96 CDE 2.0 LPT Auto is under the drivers seat (which would be passengers in a LHD country).

Mine is a Luxor unit clearly labelled with a SAAB part number. I have no idea if it needs or can be adapted to work with CD's. There are loads of multicoloured wires leading into and out of mine so it looks pretty complicated!

when I bought my aero it was the first thing I changed...
the head unit and power amp are a single unit
the power amp cannot be used with another head unit
however its no loss... the amp is only rated @4x 35 watts and your head unit itself should be more powerfull..technology moves on
better off with an aftermarket amp
