Hi,
about 2 weeks ago i removed the heatplate on my 96 Aero manual. The car is fitter than ever but seems to have more induction roar under hard acceleration.
Am i imagining it or am i driving it harder than before.
Anyone else noticed this after they did it?

Can't remember now - it's some years since I did it. I do remember on the test drive that it revved a lot more freely so I ended up revving it more often, which might have done it. It wasn't intrusive.

Then I removed the snorkel from the airbox and that did cause a noticeable increase in induction noise.

Bill,
that just about sums it up perfectly. I dont mind the noise at all and it may well be evident now as i am revving it more on occaisions.
All in all well worth the price of a gasket and a couple of hours work.

Indeed. Especially since my dealer gave me the gasket at no charge - they accumulate them because the head gasket set contains two but only one is used on engines with no heatplate.
