I have had two ACC fan controller units go since owning my current 9000. The first one that failed caused the whole set up to be stuck with the fans continually set to maximum. The second one that failed was traced back to a power supply problem (which was probably there all the time!)that eventually caused the electronics in the controller unit to fail. I had to get it fixed by a saab specialist, but I do remember reading on a saab website some tests that you can do regarding current draw and resistance measurements. Someone on this board may remember the actual website address.
Hope this helps.
I've tried this and it shows 0 faults. I think the ACC is fine but the fan somehow doesn't appear to work. On a long-ish drive the other day I had the temp set to 22 and once I had a decent bit of speed up the hot air appears to blow through, well you can feel hot air at the vents. I then switched the temp to low and the air at the vents was cold.
