Hi all. My problem is that both my ABS light and brake warning light come up every so often for about 5 seconds and then go out. I think it is unlikely to be a sensor, as this also happens if I pump the brake pedal 4-5 times when stationary. Could this be caused by old fluid? Any idea what else could it be? My dealer was unable to pull any codes.

Thanks

there may be a clue here
My experience is ..a sensor going out and the abs light comes on and you have to re-set it by turnning ignition off and on
However I was suffering a rather nasty leak and when the fluid got too low the lights would come on as before when it detected low fluid but would go off without having to re-set
I would therefore suspect the fluid level sensor
as the likely dirty contact..
(do not know where it is though...)

Small update: With the key at the on position (so that it is quiet), pumping the brakes 4-5 times hard turns the lights on and I can hear something running until the lights go out, I assume this is the pump.

What can cause the pressure to drop that much? Is it a bad accumulator?

Thanks
