Hi...Teenage son left top down 1999 9-3 convertible. There was an inch of pooled water from rainstorm on floor of car. Now key is tight in ignition, but we can turn it. Son played with keys and unlock buttons and got car to start a couple times (son does not know how), and now, car will not start at all. Message has been constant the entire time. "key not accepted". I hear a single click from dash when we try and start car. Put new batteries in FOB. Thought maybe key antenna - removed from car and dried this out - worried TWICE damaged. Do you think we should pull it and is there a way to dry it out? Any ideas as to how to diagnose problem at home? We are somewhat skilled. Thank you!

If you turn the ignition to on and then push the unlock button on the remote it will bypass the transponder detection and disarm the immobilizer. This may be how your son started the car.
