i bought a 97 saab 9000 cs im wondering if i could swap a 97 aero ecu and turbo ?and would that give me same amount of hp as a aero?any advice would be great thanks everyone!

Is the cs a 2 or a 2.3 litre ? If the latter then you're well on the way. You need to check that you have an intercooler and an apc valve ( little spool shaped thing with an electrical connection and 3 rubber pipes located on the right end of the water radiator. A lot of LPT ( low pressure turbo's ) were fitted with one or the other.

You will need to swap the VSS ( vehicle security system ) chip that is mated to the Aero ecu or have its function 'deleted' from the ecu's memory.

Alternatively you could just have your existing ecu re- written to give more ooomph.

off the top of my head, the auto was limited to 210bhp, whilst the manual had 225bhp. if you've already got some form of turbo, the best tweak i ever did was to fit an after market turbo dump valve. the improvement in low rev boost, and thereby engine pick-up, was substantial. but do be aware that if you're going to increase power, you really do need to up-rate your suspension and brakes too.

NSC is quite right...You need to also be made aware that turbo or supercharger boosting affects the whole engine. Doubling the pressure squares the load on the bearings. Timing needs to be sorted also. Always better to buy a
factory car with the turbo than to muck about. You may also void your insurance.

I have a 97 Cs that I just did what your asking so yes it will work it's very easy to do.
