Hello, I am new to this forum and am pleased to be among fellow Saab people!

I hope somebody here can help me.

I have a 2000 Saab Aero Wagon automatic.

The car runs superbly but has this occasional problem:

While driving the car, suddenly warning lights briefly flash on the dashboard (sorry cannot remember specific lights). The fuel gauge also is briefly affected as this drops towards empty.

The warning lights go off after a few seconds and the light with an exclamation point inside a cog remains on.

The car will still drive, but there is a significant reduction in power that returns only when the ignition is turned off and the car is restarted.

The warning light with an exclamation point in a cog goes off when restarted. I believe that warning light is associated with the automatic transmission, so I am guessing that could be involved with the problem or there is an electrical fault or sensor that is causing it, but I really do not know. There are no trouble codes.

I would be very grateful if anyone has any ideas what this is, or to hear from anyone else has experienced this problem.
