I'm probably being a bit of a dummy here, but where would you go for lots of back ground info and history for 9000's? I expect there is a button right in front of me that says 'everything about saab 9000's',

but I cant see it. For instance, I just did a VIN number check of my car at Bill J's site and it tells me that my car is a 1993 model series "D". What does that mean?

The model series is easy. Saab used that digit for internal use only for a few years, including 1993, so its meaning has never been published, aas far as I know, and probably wouldn't mean anything if it was.

However, background information and history can be found at The Saab Museum (not the official Saab Museum, but a very informative site).
