Hi All,

we have fitted a 900 8 valve turbo actuator to a B series 99 turbo engine, but we can we only reach 10psi boost, with the old diaphragm wastegate we could reach 15psi. The 900 actuator has been wound as far as it will go.
The question is, is this the limit for this actuator or are we doing something wrong, what are you guys out there reaching with your 'tuned' 8 valve 900 turbo's ?

Disconnect the pipe to the actuator, this should give you un-controlled boost (so be carefull). Drive the car, if the boost is still low, the actuator could be weak or the wastegate stuck open. You can check the actuator by adding an external spring to hold the wastegate shut, you can use an old brakeshoe spring for this.

Well briefly;

Mitsubishi turbo for quicker spool-up
Ported/polished head
Recirculating dump-valve
CAT fast road cam
Alloy flywheel with 9,000 clutch
K-Star engine management system running 5th injector
Water injection
Volvo FMIC
SS Exhaust with restrictive outlet from wastegate removed & battery into boot.
Recalibrated fuel distribution unit flowing 20% more fuel.
