Hi guys...

I've aquired a 2005 plate 9-3 1.9tid vector sport in the last few months...

I have recieved no service history with the vehicle so I know little about it and what has been done.

Everythings looks good, but the big question is whether or not the cam belt has been done.

Is there any way of checking whether the cam belt has been changed? The car has now done 111,000 miles. I am aware that they are due for change at 72,000.

I'd like the assurance of knowing whether it was done..

Any thoughts?

Thanks
Paul

If the belt was changed at 72000 it will be well worn at 111000 so it will be difficult to tell by looking. How about contacting the previous owner and asking? If they say yes then find out where the work was done and get it verified. If you can't trace the work the only assured way forward is to get the belt changed.
