Hi, new member.
Recently bought 2008 9.3 convertible. Sixth day, tried to put top up, halfway through, process stopped, warning read, "Only manual operation possible". How do I restore Automatic mode?
I really love this car, so Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide.

It sounds like a sensor has failed. By manual it means it can no longer work on its own and has to be done by hand.

I have three follow up questions :
1. Is this sensor a fuse or a separate part?
2. Is this sensor on or near where the Top's hydraulic motor is located in bottom of the trunk?
3. Is this fix an electronics problem that any competent repair facility can correct or do I need a SAAB specialist?

Need tech2 to determine which position sensor is showing incorrect. Maybe one on right main cylinder. Have replaced 3 but all were 2009 verts.
