Hi everyone,

I bought this car over a year ago and am slowly fixing it up. I have noticed that the Engine Mgmt Light is on and checked the codes - they are P0452 and P0498 - EVAP pressure sensor low input and EVAP system vent control circuit low.

Other detailed info that the scanner tells me is:
P0452 - wiring short to earth - evap pressure sensor - ECM
P0498 - wiring short to earth - evap valve

My question is what is the best way to approach this - I'm trying to avoid taking out the fuel tank, so I'd need to know the first easy steps in trying to find the problem. I've tried a new petrol cap and it didn't fix it.

How do we get from fuel related codes and an EML warning light, to a broken ECU? I've bought a replacement EVAP purge valve which I'll put on tomorrow...

did a couple of searches on other sites, and some owners with these codes only got rid of them when they changed there ecu for another unit,i'm not saying that is your remedy..another set of codes for failure of the T8 ecu is injector codes..

you don't say whether the car has been jump started..car computers which there's many tend not to like power surges/spikes..
