This is a 97 2.3t lpt. I am using an abbott manual boost pressure control valve taking the boost from 4 psi to 11 psi just under overboost, 0 to 60 8.2 secs. Then thought about fooling the map sensor. So I inserted a one way valve that lets out excess pressure but no air in. Now running 16 to 18 psi 0 to 60 in 7.6 secs. Engine is running ok no pinking or overheating. This is an auto. The way I see it is that on the later cars the mapping is there all the way to aero spec with just the boost pressure controlling the out put. What do you all think?
