#4 has slight cylinder wall pitting just below the top compression ring at TDC. I believe this engine has been rebuild at some point due to a head gasket issue. The pitting and rod cap engraving are huge clues that it's not an original setup.
Well the short block parts list is done. It's more than I can handle right now, unfortunately. It is going to take quite a while to accumulate the components. I will try to create video for the engine build as I get enough parts to complete stages. Initial stage will be crank reinstall. Then rods and pistons followed by outer short block repairs, balance shafts and timing setup. There's still plenty to do and video on the car, though, like measuring for clearances on the existing bores and bearings. Plasti-gage and fancy tools time. Too bad I sold my Snap-On digi-torque-angle wrench a few years ago.
