'08 SAAB 9-3 V6 Collant tank and coolant level sensor issues

I bought a new coolant reservoir as car was overheating and this was the only place I suspected a leak from observation and history of vehicle. I started to remove old reservoir and noticed the line that plugs into low coolant sensor on bottom of tank was detached. Could leak occur from that??

Also I felt around for the wire , found it, and promptly had a looped copper end come off in my hand :-(

looking to how to replace that now too.

Thoughts? Ideas?
