I had a problem with cylinder 1 misfire months ago and thought the problem had gone but today when I started my car the engine magement light came on and was this fault. It's not the first time this has happened , I change coil pack 1 and also the spark plugs a while ago and everything seemed...

My TTiD has had a strict diet of V power since I had it. Yesterday I filled up with normal Shell diesel and the clattery sound has been much reduced to the point where it sounds like a normal diesel car engine and not something that you would expect from a bit of plant running on a farm or...

What to you guys recommend to use as fuel in this engine ? Will the car see any benefits by using the better fuel such as v-power?

My car is a little lumpy on tick over at lights and when stopped in traffic.I have read that this is a common fault with this car. I recently put Shell V-Power fuel in and noticed I got about 3-4 MPG better fuel economy and the revs appeared alot higher on tick over and it seamed to prevent the...

There has been discussion on this forum regarding the problems some of us have experienced with the 1.9 150 bhp diesel going into “limp home mode” – it’s happened to me three times over the past 18 months. There seem to have been several explanations (see recent thread) on what might be...

Hi there, just wondering if anyone else has tried the V-power diesel yet and has any comments? I filled my 2.2 up and it seems to have more power, just waiting to use it up now. to see how the fuel economy is, I nearly always get around 42mpg on a tank of ordinary diesel... D.F

Seems to be replacing Optimax. Anyone tried it? Opinions? Marketing nonsense or a real difference?
  8. Saabscene: Performance
Shell have launched V-Power at the local station. It's an improved version of Optimax which is 99ron instead of Optimax's 98 and a couple of other small 'improvements' I seem to recall someone on here said the Saab T7 ECU could cope with petrol octanes to 98 RON, so presumably it won't benefit...

Claimed to be the first generation fuel to use sythetic diesel technology: Gtl. It's available at all Shell stations in NL and many in continental europe. Results in far fewer pollutants, is cleaner and is able to clean diesel injectors of carbon deposits to ensure the spray pattern is as good...

I don't know if those fuels are available in UK, but in Baltic states they are. Thus, after having such a qualified answers from Mark B on topic about oils, I have to ask something. Last week a strange discussion begun on our local auto related site www.iauto.lv - Two guys said they had...
