So, a few weeks ago after a few beers I entered a monthly car care competition! Also the competition is won by...

Has anyone found any benefits or disadvantages to running the higher priced diesel fuels? I always used the above versions of petrol in my 9000 Aero and in return I got better fuel economy. I am about to take delivery of a 9-3 diesel and I'm interested in any pro's and con's (other than price...
  5. Classic Saab 9-5 (1997 - 2009)
I have just switched from supermarket diesel to BP Ultimate in my 9-5 2.2TiD estate. I know that the headline cost is expensive by comparison but four tanks in the car is running much smoother than before and pickup seems to be a bit sharper. Fuel economy variable on regular driving but SID is...

Hello all - saw an article in the FT the other day about the supposed decline in popularity for Mercedes cars among German taxi drivers. It mentions one cabbie who clocked up a claimed 2.8m miles in his previous-generation 240D. Could it be a world record? (Doesn't mention whether it was the...

Just been flicking through one of the Auto-something-or-other mags in the 'local libary' and there is a road test of the new Merc-AMG S65. Hmmmmmnn.......I think this could bring a new meaning to that famous Blues Brothers phrase, of, 'cars gotta lot of pickup'... Lets see, 6.0 V12...

  13. Classic Saab 9-5 (1997 - 2009)
I've tried a few tanks full of Ultimate recently just to see if it does make a difference. They claim a guaranteed Cetane rating significantly higher than normal ULS diesel. The results are only subjective preception but I do think it runs smoother and more quietly, especially at lower revs...

  17. Saab 9000 (1984 - 1998)
Has anyone tried the modification being sold on ebay for about £5.00? Apparently it is a resistor connected in series between a sensor and the ECU. Does anyone know the value of the resistor and which sensor is being used? Does it work and are there any problems associated with this modification?
