Hello all, my thermostat is stuck open I believe. The guage is only about 1/3 at its highest, read earlier that this is the cause. Where exactly is the thermostat located on an 05 1.9 tdi 150 bhp Vector Sport. What is the torque setting for replacement as well. Thanks all.

Just noticed that the temp gauge isn't working on my 93 V reg.. Just had it a few days, only noticed tonight. Drove around 6 miles dual carriageway and some slow streets and the needle was still all the way at the bottom. Doesn't seem to move regardless of fast / slow / idle etc etc.. However...

Hi all, i need some advice if anyone can help... My 05 9-5 2.2tid needs a new thermostat i think as it has started overheating. It has now done 260k on the original so changing it anyway wouldnt be a bad thing. I popped to my local Andrew Page & they showed me a diagram of the only part listed...

hi all, strange how it takes some adverse weather to highlight an issue ? had 4 days of sub zero temps yesterday whilst waiting to get into a busy car park the temp needle on the instrument panel rose past the 9 oclock and then quickly dropped, did this whilst i was waiting once on the move...

my other 9000 is hot within 10 mins in this cold weather. this one is luke warm and doesnt even get hot. just mild and only when driving. so, replaced the thermostat that wasnt opening properly and no real difference . engine comes up to temp and fans come on ok etc.... cant think unless air...

Has anyone successfully changed the oil thermostat to a cooler one. e.g. opens up at 95 instead of 105. After much searching (as I did not have a clue) the consensus on the net is the ideal temp for oil should be between 85-100 and yet the Saab have the thermostat only opening above this range...
