I have had some rumbling from the pulleys on the auxiliary drive belt (i.e. the serpentine belt). Changing the two idler pulleys was fairly straightforward since they are retained by 13mm bolts. Fitting the new belt was easy enough too (using the diagram in Haynes).

I have just had a new idler and tension pulley and belt fitted to my 9-5 at my local garage (the nearest Saab dealer is 450 klm away)at the weekend. The belt is running approx 1/8 inch off all pulleys. The mechanic said it was ok but I would like to know if this is correct.
