    hi i'm due to get the head gasket replaced on my 1993 9000 aero. its at 118,000 miles at the moment so is this a job that can involve the other critical parts ie, timing chain,tappets. what parts should i replace whilst the head is off?? i presume it would be cheaper to change these items while...

I've recently had the head skimmed on my '95 9000 lpt ( Corroded core plug = overheating = head gasket ) and had the valves re cut while they were at it.     I have a 1990 900 16v convertible. From cold is it tappety, but once warm, about one mile, then fine (no noise at all). If the tappets are worn is that a problem. Could it be the hydraulic tappets adjusting as the car warms, as happens with Renault 16v? I have only owned the car for two months...
