Well, after my NSF coils spring broke about 2 months ago I've decided to replace all suspension, bearings and drop links. I've struggled with all the reviews and comments regarding Koni and Bilstien, but I've decided to go with a Bilstein B8 and Eibach 30mm front and 20mm rear combo from Neo...

Hi, I have a weird sound like air is being blown over a bottle top when I take my foot off the accelerator and it also happens when I press the accelerator, even very lightly. Its just for a few seconds then dies. Its between this sound and bubbling air/water almost. Hard to describe. Power...

How long should a diesel car take to start from completely cold? I have several friends with Focus and Beemer Diesels etc, but mine takes a lot longer turning over before firing, a good few seconds from completely cold. It does say it may take a while in the manual, but this seems a bit...

When i got it back i did some research and changed the the vac pipes and brilliant it worked. Then it started smoking something cronick...

Hello again I've searched the entire net for a similar posting about this but can't nail one down. My 51 plate Aero 9-3 has developed this annoying habit when changing gear the revs stay high, maybe even flicking up slightly higher between gear changes. Revs go up and down fine with car at a...

I have a 9-3 year 2000 with the 204 lpt engine. It has 50k miles , only recently it has been taking longer to start, either hot or cold is the same. Spark Plugs and service has been carried out but no change. The engine runs fine however , it just takes longer to start than before, does anyone...
  9. Classic Saab 9-5 (1997 - 2009)
Having run around in circles, I have decided to take the plunge and splash out (a small fortune) on a Kenwood DNX5460BT (which will give bluetooth, sat nav, ipod etc) to replace the Saab/ Denso sat nav system in my brand new 9-5 Turbo Edition estate. I have found some threads about Tech2 but...

After changing front drop links, knocking was then evident from rear, so changed the bannana shaped arms. Then a slight knocking from front. Got a pair of wishbones cheap off ebay, fittef them. That removed the slight knocking but made it evident a wheel bearing had gone. After 2 weeks trying to...

Any idea what might cause the engine to stall when the steering is on full lock? I'm guessing its the drain on the engine from the power steering pump as you can hear everything struggling, but what can be done about it? Is it an indication that something is failing or needs adjusting? Many...

I'm currently taking power or my GPS tracking device by poking a wire down one leg of the 'accessories" fuse. I think its slot 13 - it was previously empty. However this isn't very neat, not ideal for a covert tracker, and may not look good from a warranty point of view. How do I access the...
  13. Saab 9000 (1984 - 1998)
The engine on my 97 Aniversary 9000 Auto has a knock from the bottom end, I suspect the crankshaft and so have decided to remove and strip the engine. I beleve it is best to remove the gearbox attached to the engine and then strip off the gearbox and have started to strip of teh relevent bits...
  14. Classic Saab 9-5 (1997 - 2009)
Has anyone out there had this problem, I have owned a 1998 Saab 9-5 now for over 18months and it runs great, however, it has always had a little 'thump' transmitting through the steering wheel when setting off or slowing down. I was informed by a garage that there is nothing to worry about...

Hi. Is this normal? The car takes quite a few turns of the key before starting. My old Passat did not do this. It is an 03 Estate and also sounds quite rough but I believe they are renowned for that. Sounds a bit like tappet noise on accelerating. Any thoughts? Cheers.

Just noticed that over the last few mornings, it's taken a little longer for the engine to catch on cranking. The excellent independent bloke I use sorted it in pretty short order. For anyone in the Hull area - he's not any of the usual suspects. Fairly quickly traced to a leaky fuel filter...
