  1. Classic Saab 9-3/GM900 (1994 - 2002)/Conv ( -2003)
I crossed paths with a gentleman in China of all places who spent some time as a stylist at Saab back in the day. We were comparing Saab stories when I brought up the amount of torque steer in my 2002 Viggen coupe. He pointed me to the write up about it below. My question is, any one have an...

Hey everyone. I have one of the first Steering clamps for my car from MP Performance .. not sure where they are nowadays.. but their steering clamp worked well on the standard tranny setup for a ng900. I now have a quaife LSD tranny.. and probably double the power. Does anyone have any advice...
  3. Saab 9-3 Sedan/Combi/TurboX/AWD(2003+)/Conv(2004+)
As per topic title, anyone know if this is the norm? I'm finding the sideways pull is a bit savage and unpredictable and I'm just hoping it's not a sign of a mechanical failure? Could tyre pressure variations be the caause? Also when I was hunting for my car, I test drove an '07 Aero and I was...

So I got my Turbo X sportwagon. Before I start, I woud be grateful if someone in officialdom would kindly forward this to Swade, because my supposition is that if he isn't on a bung from Saab then he ought to be, because his opinions on this new car, which I have to say I bought into (and if so...

As my 96' Aero is bad for it, but my 96' T5 auto doesnt get it at all, I know obviously the way the power get's put down on diffirent car's, but surely there's somthing that can be done....if if so then what?
  7. Classic Saab 9-5 (1997 - 2009)
Hi all I have found over the last couple of months that when I accelerate hard in 1st,2nd,3rd I get really violent torque steer to the left, enough to dump you off the road if you did not know it was coming . I have checked tyre pressures and the tyres have about 7-8mm tread. The car is...

Hello, I have a friend with an automatic Aero (don't know the year?), purchased 2nd hand, 35k miles. It seems to have developed very severe Torque Steer. It has been back to the local dealership and the tracking has been looked at. I seem to remember that there was a 'service bulletin' (I think...

I've been pricing the steering rack braces for a little while now. Just put one on using a steel with a rubber bushing...vice the larger solid aluminum type Abbott sells. The car feels so much better out of a turn then it used to, and there's no drag on turning the car. Uses the same solid...

Greetings! Does anyone know if the steering rack needs to be "bump steered" after lowering the car? I know that the Porsches needed to have their racks shimmed to bring the tierod ends closer to level. Thanks in advance as usual. Regards, John

An issue I've been meaning to raise since I tested an 93 SS in September. Does it have passive rear wheel steering? FWD cars have a habit of understeering when pushed but the SS reminded me of my old Peugeot 306. Load up the outside rear wheel on a corner by progressively adding steering lock...

Problem:FWTS on my Carlsson under moderate to hard acceleration. Solution: apart from going slower perhaps you can tell me. Has anybody 'invested' in an adaption or modification that has significantly reduced this particular problem? If so I'd like to hear about it. (This question previously...
