I've a horrible squeal coming from my engine when accelerating in 1st and 2nd gear (sometimes also in 3rd) around town. The car is a '97 Saab 9000 2.0 Turbo CSE. Will this be the fan belt? Anyone have any ideas on how much it will cost to fix? Cheers Jonathan

New head gasket - new water pump and drive belt and tensioner. The drivebelt is squealing like a pig - it is slightly loose - you can turn water pump pulley with spanner and belt doesnt move,but it hass a new tensioner. What could cause this - is it just a case of running car and it will slowly...

Sometimes when pulling away in first, or changing up into second - especially under heavy load, i.e. hard acceleration or steep gradient - I get a bit of a squeal when the clutch bites. What would that be then?
