It’s a long weekend! Woohoo!
Automotive jobs here at TS include the removal exchange of my Monte Carlo’s woodgrain dashboard for the plain dash in one of Drew B’s cars. I’ll then be able to fit my new carbon fibre dash kit.
Website jobs here at TS include the changeover to the new website...
Another groovy vintage Saab ad, spotted on Flickr:
Here’s the text. Click to enarge or just view the large version in all it’s glory.
The Bologna Motor Show is set to start in early December, and Saab will be showing it’s 2009 Griffin edition Saab 9-5s at the show.
In another welcome diversion from the gloom and doom of the automotive market crunch and crushing cash burn rates, I present a few little digital gems that will enhance any Saab lover’s life.

I hate being away from home.
At least I’ve got you, Richo.
I’ve had a hardcopy version of this for a while, but seeing I’ve had a number of people email it to me in the last few days, I figure it must have just been released online.
What am I talking about?
It’s the Hirsch 2008...
All you Los Angelinos will probably know already that the LA Auto Show is only 10 days away. It runs from November 21 to November 30.
The Saab 9-X Air will be in attendance, and therefore, so should you.
Many of you helped out one of our Aussie Saab nuts last weekend. PT was trying...
Yes, this is post number 5,000 here at Trollhattan Saab. Phew!
I wish I had something huge and lofty to report in order to do the milestone properly, but I don’t. Let’s just count last night’s Turbo X entry as post #5K and call it done, shall we? It was a big effort, after all.
Like Swade, I’m pleased to take a weekend break from the financial ills plaguing the General. In this post, you’ll find another TS regular first-time meet up, a Hirsch of a different stripe and notes about my recent 9-5 frustrations.
First, the “Hirsch”. I’ve seen this automobile before...
It’s my distinct pleasure to inform you that this entry contains no new about GM’s financial woes or Saab’s future.
If anyone’s looking to pick up some rare-ish scale model Saabs, Ivan the T-shirt specialist is selling off some of his collection. You can view what he’s got available...
If the planets align correctly, I might actually get a Turbo X to drive next week!
We’ll see. I’ve got the go ahead from Saab Oz, it’s just whether or not our local dealer needs the car for demos during the week. There’s only one Turbo X for the press here in Oz and it doesn’t make it’s way...
The likelihood of mass-posting here today is not high.
Confession time: I’m a US election junkie. I have been for ages. In fact, it was the race for the 2004 election that first exposed me to blogging and I started Trollhattan Saab early in 2005 after getting the blogging bug.
It’s 15 minutes into Wednesday as I write this, but if you’re reading from the US, then it’s the first Tuesday following the first Monday in November.
Get out and vote, people.
I’m having server error problems tonight, hence the slower posting. Sorry.
The Auto Channel has one of...
It’s a new month, so watch out for vehicle sales data that should start coming in on Monday. We’ve already been through Black September. I’m predicting (in my best Tom Clancy style) a Red October for all the bloodletting that’s going to come.
Speaking of which, Farago from The Truth...
When I was a kid, we had a tradition at school where anyone having a birthday would receive ‘birthday bashings’ from everyone else. We’d all line up and punch the birthday boy on the arm, the number of punches rising each year in accordance with newly attained age.
I’d love to be in England...
Saab art. There’s not enough of it, is there?
So here’s some from one of Gripen’s mates, Kyu Kwon. I’ve mentioned Kyu on this site before, back during Saab’s 60th Anniversary celebrations in San Diego, where he met Erik Carlsson for the second time; the first was back in his native Korea...
When you have a day like we did here yesterday, with the excellent Saab 9-3 SS discussion and the first possible spotting of the new Saab 9-5 interior, it seems a little hollow to be writing again if you can’t top a day like that.
And by the way, that 9-3 discussion was without doubt one of...
So, about the Saab-i newsletter thingy today.
Yes, I did know it was coming. Saab USA’s ad agency, McCann Erikson, got in touch with me around a month ago to seek permission to do it.
I think they’re going to feature a number of Saab enthusiast sites over the coming months.
Car design, part I
I have a big bad yearning for a Porsche at the moment. This one, actually.
I definitely don’t have a yearning for the Panamera. If only Porsche could stop people from seeing it from the rear.
The Panamera is proving the rule, just like the Mini SUV did, that you can’t...
I’m still away, so access is sporadic at best.
I’ve just been scouring the web, though, and here’s the best that I can bring. And there’s some that I can’t without seeming petty and picky, but suffice to say there’s some real nutty stuff going on in the automotive blogosphere right now.
Good news abounds!!
Yes, there are even some good Saab sales stories out there.
One market where Saab sales have been defying the global trend is the Russian market.
During September 2008, there were 133 Saabs sold in Russia, which is 125% up on the same month last year, when only 59...
An unusual Monday morning version of EnG snippets brought to you by the Columbus Day holiday here in the United States. Inside, I demonstrate the value of a TS T-shirt, I talk about specific model quirks (with a bonus from the previous owner of my 9-5) and we go green.
First up, the model...
