  1. Classic Saab 9-5 (1997 - 2009)
I just replaced the rear shocks on our 2005 Saab 9-5 Arc sedan. It’s a pretty easy job except for the (dreaded) rusty nut. I’m sure you know what I’m talking about if you’ve done this job. I first removed the passenger’s side spring/shock assembly. At first I tried to use a closed-end wrench...

My 2004 9-5 sedan, at 108,000 miles. is starting to cost more in repairs than it is worth, and I'm beginning to look for a replacement. But it needs new rear shocks right now. Can anyone suggest inexpensive shocks that won't screw up the handling and ride? I'm more ocncerned with shoirt-term...

  5. Saab 9-3 Sedan/Combi/TurboX/AWD(2003+)/Conv(2004+)
I'd like to renew front shocks on my 2006 9-3 Aero saloon. When I search for 9-3 shocks I see various Bilsteins listed (B2, B4, B6) and other makes like Monroe. Price varies from £75 a pair up to double that depending in make and type. I imagine Saab fitted different shocks to the Aero given...

I have a 1999 9-3 2.0i (non-turbo), and I think it's time to replace the front shock absorbers (108k miles old). Does anybody have any recommendations for aftermarket shocks? I'm looking to replace the originals with something similar. I've heard that turbo models had slightly stiffer shocks...

I recently changed my springs from standard to Eibach Pro, which gave a nice 30mm drop, but the ride is very bouncy because I'm still using the standard shocks. Which uprated/sports shocks do people recommend when using lowered springs? I've seen two makes: - Bilstein B8 - Koni FSD
