Hello, long time since Ive been on here my car got written off a couple years ago. I have some new unused parts collecting dust, and will soon be throwing them away if noone wants them. Mine was a 1991 B234i engine, 9000 SE the SCC computer was from another model but works in mine also...
  2. Saab 9000 (1984 - 1998)
Advice sought. I have just replaced my old analogue clock with the SCC version from a '96 9000 - my car is a '97 Anniversary. Other than simply swopping over the connection block, what else do I have to do to get it to work - currently the SCC is dead, though power is going to it as the lights...

Hi all, I kept a link in my favourites for the SCC LDR repair though now the site has moved and on doing a search I can't find any posts that match the criteria. Here's the old link:- http://www.saabscene.com/cgi-bin/ultimateb...pic/2/4415.html I think this concerned the little component that...

G'Day from OZ Just bought my first SAAB, a 1992 CD with only 110,000km on it. I have a few questions... 1. I have seen SCC units offered for sale, and was wondering if it is a simple replacement for the analogue clock in the dash? 2. Same with Climate control, is it simply a plug in...

Can anyone who has upgraded their analogue clock in a 95-98 9000 give me some advice? I have the correct SCC (45 19 443) so it should be simple. I have connected the single 8pin connector from the old analogue clock into the new computer. When switched on the screen lights up but is garbled...

I've been trying to search for the posts on replacing the LDR that now dims the trip computer lights all the time. There was a post with pictures, but I can't find it. I found the one giving details of the LDR from Maplins N49AY that SimonF posted last year. I have managed to get the SCC out of...

  8. Saab 9000 (1984 - 1998)
Sorry if this has been discussed before but can the unit (its the one near the hazard warning switch) be removed easily without taking the dash apart ? I also dont want to chew anything up with a flat bladed screwdriver by levering in the wrong place. Anyone give accurate info on how to...

Hi all, Still working on the SCC project for SWMBO's chariot, I'm afraid. From what I can see of the display, the distance and time functions seem to be working fine. Now I need to turn to the temperature readings. At the moment, all I get is -40º which presumably is the default for no info...

I decided to put a SCC into SWMBOs 9000i, from an old CDE turbo I was dismantling. The display worked fine when it was in the turbo, but after finding the correct wires (eventually) in the 9000 for it there was only a faint glimmer on the display. After much checking I had a look at the bulbs...

Got the aero home, and I have a question..... Is there a way to make it so the SCC will stay permanently illuminated, because having to press the INFO button every time I want to check the time is annoying. is it normal for it to go dark except when INFO is depressed?

Apologies - I tried to figure this out from searches, but I couldn't. Can anyone tell me if part 41 09 591 will fit my 97 CSE? Thanks!

I got around to installing an SCC on the weekend that I bought on eBay. It's for a '90-93 MY but is still a plug and play in my '89 with the 2nd 8-pin plug that was buried behind the radio (and which I learned about here in the "archives" -- thanks!). Anyone know if the SCC can be recalibrated...

Greetings from a first-timer west of "the pond". The phototransistor on my SCC has "gone south" leaving me with no daytime readout from the unit. Saab would have me replace the whole unit for about $450 US when the failed part is probably worth $2 or $3 US. Several folks have rigged substitutes...
