  1. Help, Advice, Saabs and Motoring
Hi everyone. I'm hoping for some advice here. I'm going to look at a 93 2.0T auto convertible on Sunday. I have to say from the pics that the car looks stunning and has obviously had time, effort & £'s spent on it. The only concern for me is the mileage which is at 96k on a '57 plate. I know...
  2. Tyres, Wheels, and Brakes
Hi All, Maybe its because of where I work (on an industrial estate), but punctures are something that I reckon get more than my fair share of. On more than occasion I have had to replace a tyre with plenty of wear left in it. Consequently I am loath to spend £150+ on tyres IF I can get...
  3. Saab 9000 (1984 - 1998)
I was reading on a recent post about one of our number who had a faulty 'box mis-diagnosed, removed, found to be OK, replaced, and the car returned to the owner ( presumably as it originaly was) along with a hefty ("£500") bill. This started me wondering about similar experiences of friends and...

[ QUOTE ] Opel admits another plant is at risk Author: James Mackintosh Publication: Financial Times Date: March 01, 2006 Abstract: General Motors should have taken out more jobs when it got rid of 12,000 workers in Europe last year, and might yet have to close one of its main factories in...
  5. Classic Saab 9-5 (1997 - 2009)
I'm aiming to get my new (to me) Griffin V6 converted to LPG. However, in conversation with Two Stroke To Turbo they said they'd seen several LPG Griffins where the intercooler had "exploded". Any knowledge on this? Hey ... this is my first post as a 9-5 owner!
  6. Classic Saab 9-5 (1997 - 2009)
Hi 9-5 drivers. I currently run a standard 9-3 LPT and have done for the last 2 years and am thinking of chopping in and getting a 9-5 either a 2.0t 0r 2.3t depending what is available at the time. However, I am contemplating going down the route of a stage 1 tune by way of a remapped ECU so...
  7. Help, Advice, Saabs and Motoring
Can anyone help with this little problem? I need an insurance company who will provide Comp cover on a (whisper) Clio. My 20yo step-son has just got his licence back after a year's ban for dangerous driving. No accident, no-one hurt, no drink etc. he got stopped by the police who were in a Focus...
  8. Saab 9000 (1984 - 1998)
Afternoon all, I've read a lot recently about the need to change the timimg chain at the 100k miles mark. This has got me worried. My 96 cse lpt has done 170k and is on its original chain. It doesn't rattle or make any noises ( always fed it full synthetic every 12k ) at all. Is it a case of...
