Is it good to regularly take off and thorughly clean the EGR...? I have heard of problems with these EGR's... I used to own a few Vectra B 's with the 2.0 DTi engines which suffered badly with EGR valves, solenoids and vac pipes..... I just did not wanna open a can of worms..... As at the moment...

Hi, I'm a newbie and I have to say up front, that I really like my saab 95 vector sport diesel estate 2007. Its big comfy and stylish transport, when it goes forwards! However, this is the most frustrating machine I have ever owned!!!!! It pisseth me off on three counts 1. It eats rear tyres...

Hi. I'm starting to get irritated by the number regenerations the car does (or tries to do). Every time in the last four times I've taken it out it starts to try and regenerate. Car gets jerky on the throttle response and sounds like its misfiring so I know when it does it, if i stop and...

The gas filler cap on my 2004 9-3 vert recommends 90 octane, with a minimum allowed 87 AOR (I assume that's average octane rating?) My first couple of tanks were 93, then 90, and I've just filled the tank with 87 octane regular unleaded. The car seems to run the same regardless. Any worries...
  5. Classic Saab 9-5 (1997 - 2009)
Just had my trusty old 9-5 into Saabtech, as I suspected the turbo was at last beginning to wear (1999, 2.0t, 192bhp with Saab chip). The car has done 176,000 miles on the original turbo - yet when Ian investigated it for wear, it still had life in it although there was clearly some oil...

I don't know if those fuels are available in UK, but in Baltic states they are. Thus, after having such a qualified answers from Mark B on topic about oils, I have to ask something. Last week a strange discussion begun on our local auto related site www.iauto.lv - Two guys said they had...

With regard to all the bitching on the post below. I have recently purchased my first Saab, a 95 2.0. I purchased this vehicle because I didn't want to be another BMW driver, who are now getting to be like Sierra drivers (everywhere and ignorant. I wanted a car with class style reasonable...

Hi, Just thought it might be fun to collate a list of the cars our regular posters have, then when anyone is asking any questions they can check out the list to see if someone has the same car as theirs. Also, if you want to send my pictures and a description of your car, I'll post it on my...
