  2. Classic Saab 9-3/GM900 (1994 - 2002)/Conv ( -2003)
My 2001 43k mile 2.0t 150 has begun to start up on what feels like three cylinders after leaving overnight. Quick blip of the throttle clears it, but with quite a bit of smoke from the exhaust. Replaced plugs, no help, doesn't happen every day but probably 4 out of 5. Thoughts are maybe oil...

Had to laugh this morning as Cardiff council have no money to repair the pot holes in the road but they are busy going around repairing the speed bumps which are worn out or damaged by the cold weather everywhere.Nice to see they have there priorities right. In the meantime i find myself driving...

  6. Classic Saab 9-5 (1997 - 2009)
I posted a while back about my 332mm by 32mm Hirsch discs being in the winter of their life. I could not really find an alternative (cheaper one) to ordering the originals form Saab/Hirsch for circa £400. However, I have sourced cheap pads. The DS2500 are coming up at between £200-250 and the...

Does anybody know the Brembo caliper number/pad number for the Hirsch 4 pot brakes? Hirsch have quoted me their part number but it’s proving difficult to get a price out of the “Saab” system. The Brembo caliper number would be best ‘cos then I could shop around for different pad compounds.

Just out of interest what setup are the brakes on the Aero? They are fantastic for their size considering the weight of the car. I'm guess they must be 2pot calipers and 300mm discs at least?
  9. Saab 9000 (1984 - 1998)
I currently have a problem where the dashboard lights kep going out, give the dimmer switch a quick smack and everything comes back. Is there anything in the switch that can be checked or should I just buy another one? Also does anyone have the part number for the switch or the Saab exploded...

Does anyone know if any Vauxhalls (eg. Cavalier Turbo) have the same mounting brackets as 9000's? I ask as HiSpec will charge £100 for a measure up? Oh, HiSpec are now selling slimline 4 pots. Not sure if they will fit inside a standard Saab rim, though might be worth enquiring for those who...

Now, I know that Abbott and Godspeed produce these, but does anyone else? I was talking to someone this week who had a Mk 3 Capri 3.5LS. He had stuffed a ported, tuned, Rover v8 into it, which is as light as the 2.0l Ford unit! He has used a couple of four pot calipers, namely Volvo (...
