Guys, Currently on a walking holiday along the Pennine way and have had a bit of trouble. Car stuttered to a halt coming out of Alston a couple of days ago resulting in a call to these nice chaps in their yellow vans. They sent a substitute who had very little kit with him but concurred with...

Hello All, I have 2006 9-3 Aero with the 2.8 V6 and was wondering which ignition coils to buy. I can't really afford the Saab ome ones but maybe the next ones down, the Bosch would work fine. I have 106k on the car with a small misfire. It is a 6 speed manual shift. any help would be...

Hey guys, owner of a 2006 Saab 93 Aero. Engine is the 2.8 liter. My car is not running well, not driveable. It seems like it's misfiring pretty bad. In short, I drove to work after it sat for a few weeks, drove fine, CEL on. Went to drive home later in the day and it was misfiring bad and had...

Hi Folks My 9-3 TID has this afternoon started mis firing, whilst travelling down the motorway. It is now sounding like it is running on 3 cylinders, and drives as though this is the case. There isn't any smoke, or any other noises that I have noticed. It's as if the plug lead has been pulled...

Hi! i have been heaving issue with my saab 9-3 2.0T for couple of years now and no one seems to be able to help me. Car misfires at idle (only slightly) you can see it better if its parked next to another 9-3 which is fine. It also misfires at 2000rpm and 3500rpm - if you put your foot down. The...
  7. Saab 9000 (1984 - 1998)
Hi guys my 9000 aero mis-fires quite often, when idling it does it from time to time. but if you hold the revs at around 2500-3000 rpm its quite noticible how much it does it. i have tried 3 different DI's which seem to work fine and its had new plugs. is this normal for the 9000 to do or what...

Hi, I've just spent a bundle on my 99 95 to stop missfiring. New electronic ignition module, one new injecto and oxygen sensor. Runs much better but still has slight misfire (I think) on decceleration of speeds above 45. Thanks for any help George Prior

On my way back from the shop the engine started running very rough, almost sounded like my old 99 when it was misfiring and no power in the engine. Any ideas? Edit: Forgot to say no engine lights on or anything else untoward.

My symptoms are a bit unusual. The problem usually happens around the time that the car goes from cold mode to hot mode, but not always. If idling it will just cut out. If driving there will be a horrible loss of power and then it will pick up again, causing a sharp judder. I have an Aero...
  12. Classic Saab 9-5 (1997 - 2009)
Hi, I have a 9-5 which is almost 5 years old (100k) and have just had to replace the worn camshaft as it had caused damage to the valves in No 1 cylinder(hence no compression). I am trying to claim under a mechanical breakdown insurance I have, but the insurers are stating that it was reasonable...
  13. Classic Saab 9-5 (1997 - 2009)
Just noticed lately that about 5-10 minutes after my 9-5 starts up the engine misses, the rev counter goes up and down. Happens when driving too especially slowly between 20-30 mph, and when she is fully warmed up. Thought at first that I had bought kangaroo brand of petrol :D but am just...

1990 9000S automatic nonturbo I just had my timing belt replaced and since its return it has a consistent misfire during both idling and acceleration. It can be described as a sputtering sound which is more apparent during idle, but if accelerating slowly it just becomes more frequent and less...

Thank you leon. It was one of the DI cassettes. I should have known because I had one go on a 9000 Carlson 15 or 16 years ago, that unit failed completely after around 100,000 miles, so I expect my second unit to go soon. They did not seem to be available from scrap yards or Ebay so I guess...

My Griffin engine has started to misfire. 118000 miles. (almost run in) I have replaced the plugs, checked connectors, checked vac hoses. It appears to get worse as the engine gets warmer! I am worried about the cat so have stopped driving until I figure it out. Any ideas. Frank
  18. Saab 9000 (1984 - 1998)
My 9000T has today developed a "misfire" under acceleration. Not the usual boost valve problem, but a more mild and regular stuttering. I'm guessing it's either a fuel or ignition problem. Has anyone had a similar problem or any suggestions what to check first?
  19. Saab 9000 (1984 - 1998)
My '93 2 litre (non turbo) has developed a slight misfire. It is most noticeable when cold or under hard acceleration, particularly with the aircon switched on. Had similar symptoms a couple of months ago and the garage fitted a new ignition module. Surely this cannot be on its way out already...
