Hi... My heater matrix appears to have failed on me this afternoon. No prior symptoms, all the temperatures/blower functions previously working fine..... And then suddenly i had no blowers, a windscreen dripping with condensation, steam coming from everywhere - vents, speakers grilles etc, and...

Hello there, Has anybody any experience in replacing the heater matrix in a saab 93 1998 with Acc. I have seen various threads for a 95/9000/ 900 but nothing for a saab 93 with Acc. If anybody could direct me to a thread , or have any advice along with pictures,it would much appreciated...

The heater started making a sweet sickly smell so I changed the matrix last week. I used the technique in saab9000.com, where you move the air con box out of the way slightly to get the blower out. It was still a dog of a job - and re-tightening the hose clips on the matrix was a challenge...

Driving down from Scotland yesterday I had a bit of a shock, there was a bang and lots of smoke poured out of every vent in the dashboard filling the car in a few seconds, luckily I was able to pull over before I lost all vision. I realised within a couple of seconds that it was steam and not...

Hi all We recently acquired a '97 2.0CSE LPT Anniversary that we are running as a stopgap second car (first car is a 9-5 Aero) over winter. So far we've had to top up the coolant three times and recently noticed the passenger front footwell carpets were wet. Something was ringing a bell about a...

Hi, I've had the joy of changing the heater matrix twice now and still have a slight coolant smell coming through into the cabin. The last change was about 6 mths ago - so it's had plenty of time to burn off any residual coolant. When changing, the coolant pipes were a nightmare to reconnect...

1996 2.0 LPT matrix and blower assembly changed today [fingers now shredded!] That part was done ok. Now when the aircon or the rad fan kicks the idle goes very low and some times will stall. Hi Everyone - I'm new to this forum, so apologies if I raise topics that have been covered many times before! I think our 1996 9000 CSE (2.3 Ecopower Anniversary) needs a new heater matrix - it doesn't seem to be losing much coolant, or misting up the windows yet, but there's a distinctive...

Well chaps lets hope this is the low spot of 2007 for me and my beloved MY96 9k cse! I had noticed the tell-tale dreaded white smoke on start-up just prior to christmas and fully intended to have it checked out asap. Unfortunately asap was not asap enough as coolant started forcing its way out...

I've got a bit of dampness in the passenger footwell - i presume the heater matrix is leaking as there is a slight tinge of antifreeze to it. Its not serious at the moment ( nothing is steaming up etc ). I am loath to spend any more money on the car than I have to - would putting in Radweld (...

A huge thanks to all who helped out with my wet, ponging Aero recently. Just replaced the heater matrix (all by myself ) So no more wet carpets, bad smells, check radiator signs etc. Took me just over 3 hours. But I did it. And with only one plaster needed on my fingers. So thanks again...
