  1. Saab 9-3 Sedan/Combi/TurboX/AWD(2003+)/Conv(2004+)
How good is the red paint used by Saab?? In the past it has been told that the red paint used on cars is not terribly good when it comes to their life and lusture - cars painted red have been known to fade, and not hold their colour and sheen past about 4 years. I wondered therefore whether...
  2. Saab 9000 (1984 - 1998)
I am considering the purchase of a 1993 1/2 9000 Aero. While it seems to be well-maintained I am concerned that it has 260,000km on the odometer. How long can one of these vehicle last before causing major headache and financial drain? Also, it is red, but the paint is incredibly dull. My...
  3. Classic Saab 9-3/GM900 (1994 - 2002)/Conv ( -2003)
I'm looking at getting a 9-3 Aero HOT, but the price I can afford means I'm looking at the higher mileage end of the market. How many miles can you usually get out of one of these engines? I would expect around 200k before it became very expensive to fix, but what are people's general...

Hi Out of interest - I have a nine year old Aero with 123,000 miles. Who on the list has the highest mileage Aero and how many miles have you put on the old girl. Mick

Hi All I am thinking of buying a 96 Aero with 120K miles, it has had a lot of the right mods done, suspension and other useful stuff. If I buy this car it is going to have to last me at least 4 years. I only do about 8-9k a year. What sort of mileage will these do - or is it more of a case of...

I leave the headlights on all the time and do about 2500 miles a month and now only get about 3 months from headlights. Are after-market bulbs rubbish? Would a bulb from a dealer last longer?
  8. Saab 9000 (1984 - 1998)
I'm looking for a car for my father and have decided a CSE 2.0 LPT auto will fit the bill, probably around '94 or '95. High-mileage examples are reasonably priced and I have no worries about the engine. I can fit new suspension bushes, engine mountings, etc. if need be before I hand it over to...
