Hit what I presume to be the rev limiter today for the first time - accelerated hard round a bend and up a hill in 2nd and forgot I was driving a diesel until the acceleration suddenly stopped, then I realised and changed up! That shouldn't have done it any harm, should it?

I'm assuming it does but couldn't find info anywhere. if it does is it part of the distributer or more 'complicated'?

I wonder if anyone can advise me. I am getting conflicting advice about whether a steering limiter is required for my car. I recently purchased a used MY2007 9-3 Saab Vector convertible which came with 19" 3 spoke Hirsch wheels. It has a steering limiter to apparently stop the wheel arches...

Just bought a 1988 900 turbo 16s. The rev limited cuts in at 5400 rpm (kills the fuel pump) which is alot lower than my other T16s. Does anyone know how to adjust or disconnect it?

MY93 9000 2.3FPT I have hit the rev limter on infrequent occasions (mainly in 2nd) and it's coughed and then carried on as normal. Recently however, since changing to a lower final drive and ECU mapping that holds a bit more boost higher up but has a slighlty lower rev limit than before, I've...

ive mentioned my works gutless merc "walker"a time ago about fitting an MBC on it to give it more go,but this was a no go idea.but as i drove it today i worryingly got another idea its got a rev limiter fitted so it wont go past 4k rpm(the counter goes to 7k,but i dont know what it would rev...
  8. Classic Saab 9-5 (1997 - 2009)
Thought that T7 was clever enough to prevent overrevving with a "soft" stop. I got a "hard" cut off when holding first gear off a busy roundabout for a quick getaway. Is this OK or is there a fault?

Help guys. Can you advise, does the Trionic on a '99 9-5 SE with Abbot ECU contain a rev limiter at approx/ 6,500 RPM . Over enthusiastic playtime, on the way home from the office tonight, with a Scooby resulted in muggins here forgetting what gear he was in and not bieng able to work out...

erm is it right that the limiter should kick in on an NA 2 litre at 6krpm? If so thats a bit [expletive deleted]! the bottom ends good for over 7500rpm piston speed wise. Chris
