Good evening fellas. This is my 3rd used Saab that I bought. when I test drove it everything was honkydory. Now when I accelerate and the turbo spools up, it sort of lags sometimes. there is power then less then power then less. its like a power band coming and going. just wanted to know if...

I have a 07 BioPower Vector Sport the engine light came on and the car feels like its running through treacle. There is a noticeable delay between putting my foot on the accelerator and the car revving even in neutral. A similar thing happened over the holidays and it went back to the garage I...

first of all i am no mechanic:sad:, just so you know. lately my car is totally flat in first and second gear, foot to the floor and going nowhere.the turbo doesnt seem to be kicking in till 2.5 - 3k revs.now i thought this could be the clutch but the revs are'nt rising fast enough if you see...

The turbo goes into the yellow then stops for a little bit then proceeds into the red and holds perfectly. No smoke, no excess oil useage. I've had the R pipe blocked for a couple of years so it's not the BPC. I'm thinking is in the vacuum system, i.e the actuator isn't getting enough vac to...

I have a 55 reg Saab 93 1.9TiD 120 I am currently having a problem where by the power is coming in real late. I can have my foot on the floor in a low gear and the power climbs very slowly before bursting into life at about 2.5k revs. This is a lot later than it has been and I am wondering what...

Hi I'm new to the site and grateful in advance for any guidance / tips / info. I have a '02 9-5 3.0 TiD and recently bought a reconditioned engine from Engine World in Bolton. Although I'm generally pleased with the engine and trust the garage that fitted it, I dont think the overall...

Since getting my M03 Aero the performance has really been an issue for me. My Previous 2001 185bhp 9-3 and 2006 9-5 Aero were by far better performing cars. My new Aero is smooth as anything etc so I'm not thinking I have any faults but there is a lack of performance, considering its a low...

HI, I recently purchased my Saab 93 TID (150) 2 months ago and have a question about turbo lag. If I accelerate hard up through the gears the car performs really well. If however I accelerate hard doing less than 2000rpm I seem to hit a flat spot at just under 2000rpm - everything kinda...

Hello Folks, I have a 93 1.9TID 150bhp automatic 2005 and have had a catalogue of problems with the car probably due mainly to the amount of miles I do for my work. Unlike Saabs of old the new models seem to have lost a lot of their resiliance. Anyway. I have been suspicious that the turbo...

Hi All, A newbie to here and the Saab's, I picked up a nice (I think so) 9-3 SE hatch last weekend and as it's my first ever Saab would like to know the spin up rpm of the turbo, seem to sometimes hit the rpm's right on hard acceleration and have a smooth power delivery and then the next time...

hello all, our 9-3 aero with the 230bhp hirsch upgrade is going great and getting quicker as the engine beds in. there is one problem and I wondered if anyone can help/advise before I phone the dealer. when doing 70-80 mph and then you accelerate hard there is sometimes a pause in power and...

Is it worth lagging the exhaust manifold on my T8? I get a lot of cabin heat from the manifold, i really noticed it this summer after long runs and then town driving. Would lagging the manifold cause overheating issuses in other parts of the exhaust system or turbo (no cat). Would the chances of...

I've seen a few T3 variants on eBay going for low prices. Would this unit offer a significant upgrade from a T25 or would it just be either "too big" for a car with no head or manifold mods or just completely the wrong trim? I'm assumuning here that the T3 is a lower spec version of the GT30...

Firstly I just wanted to say 'Hi!' ...at last! I bet you don't get too many problems with Trolls around here So now I'm here I wonder if you can help me? My 2000 (80k miles) 2.0lpt seems to loose power between gear changes I fitted a BSR ECU and this seems to have exacerbated the...

I have a 2000 Vig. I read where a high flow converter will improve the turbo lag. Ok, now can I just take the thing off and accidentally drop a tire iron through it? Is there a sensor after the converter that would sense the unburned gasses and make it go lean?

I have a 2.0 lpt MY99. When under full throttle, overtaking a slow car at say 30-40 mph there appears to be a delay of say 2 seconds or so before engine leaps into action. Any ideas - failing pipe? Turbo was replaced about 12k miles ago!

As the driver of an 03 Aero and having the use of a 3.0 tid on loan I have noticed a marked lag compared to the petrol car. It feels like winding up an elastic band and at 2000rpm it all gets a bit frantic. I find this very unusual. I have owned several turbo cars petrol and diesel and have not...

Thought I might add a little positivity this evening On Monday I had a new turbo fitted, took a while, most of it waiting for the dealer to deliver the part Any way, first impressions.......... "I've lost my lag!" and "I've lost my blue smoke too!" The car is deceptively...

Just had my car back from the garage to fix a juddering at 1200 rpm. They fixed the juddering and introduced a turbo lag of about 1000 rpm. I have been told this will not be fixed until Saab techies come up with the next upgrade. I think I will be waiting for at least V8 when it arrives...
