HI all Does anybody know if the UK spec 2001 Auto 2.0 SE T ( 5 door ) has a kick down button...only mine when in for MOT welding and came back with no button or stopper under the acclerator pedal...Pulled carpet and panels off but cant find anywhere that a kickdown switch would fit into...

I've just started getting a problem, when I kickdown the car jumps like I'm a learner driver again! It lurches (quite violently) repeatedly until I back off the accelerator. The car's an automatic LPT. Any ideas what it could be? Cheers

Whilst switching the APC (see other thread) I thought I would check out the kickdown cable ('96 2.3 FPT Auto). I have meant to adjust this since I got the car (about 2 years!) as you have to bury the pedal in the carpet to achieve a kickdown, but it does kickdown. However, I can't find it...

98 anniversary 2.3 fpt This has only recently started to happen, so I'm accelerating carefully to avoid kickdown at the moment. I've checked the gearbox oil which is at the right level and clean. I can't identify clearly the kickdown cable though. There's a cable at the back of the box (under...

This might sound an odd request but does anyone know if it is possible for the gearbox kickdown points to be reprogrammed? Mine (2001 Griffin 3litre petrol) is very keen to kick down (often by 2 gears), it takes little pressure on the throttle to make it kick down when below 50mph and even...

Hi! My question is -should the throttle valve be fully open at the moment when I am pushing the accelerator pedal just to the step where I can feel the kick-down mechanism resistance? My car is, SAAB 9000CDE 2.3t w/AT -96, I have looked in the throttle housing while operating the accelerator...

Does anyone know of a way of a DIY adjustment of the kickdown cables on an auto gearbox, Haynes manual suggests it is an easy step of moving the cable within it's clasp, however, speaking to my local dealer he said a special tool was needed to hold open the throttle butterfly in order to adjust...

I have a 1993 Saab 9000 cse in Taiwan. ,with automatic bearbox, The milage is 176,000 km and my saab still runs well. One thing bothers me is that everytime when I kickdown from 4th speed to 3rd speed an abnormal shock from gearbox will happen. 1) But if I manually "shift" from 4th speed to...

The autobox in my 91 2.3t occasionally seems slow to change gear- this is especially noticable when decelerating and then immediately accelerating ie approaching a roundabout. There is then a nasty jolt as the 'box changes down too late- it sounds like it is in neutral for too long. Is this...
