So today I removed the heat shield on my 9-3 turbo and I'm curious if this could be detrimental. Since the exhaust turbine and manifold are right there (now without heat shield) could this melt the plastic of the fan right there? and could it heat the coolant since there is a reservoir there...

I have a 2006 9-3 Aero Cabriolet 2.8. I am looking forward to a drive through France in the summer but I want to stick my Sanef Telepeage tag behind the mirror to take care of tolls. Usually it has to be fitted on the hatched area that most cars have there. The 9-3 doesn't have one and Sanef...

I I've seen posts to this issue referring to linkage . My code reads 21 recalculate motor. What is the repair for this?

Hi all, I recently picked up 900 from the mechanics and soon after discovered a rattling noise coming from the front rhs of the car. On further investigation I think the cause of this is the battery heat shield. It's completely loose and not secured to anything - it's just wedged between the...

Hi all. Can anyone tell me the part number for the heating elements in the 9-3 sport seats? I think there are different heaters depending on whether you have stadard seats or sport seats? Have found a set of Aero seats for my 2009 wagon but the passenger side is missing the heating elements:mad...

Death rattle turns out to be a loose heat shield for the long central exhaust silencer. A quick look suggests the horrid little welded screws have not yet snapped off the floor, but not sure if the shields has rusted out around the nuts, or the nuts have gone AWOL. Has anyone had this before...

Hello, over a year ago I took out my blower motor all to find out that it works. I will never do that job again as it caused me so much stress, sweat and blood. Anyway, whilst driving along with heating/cooling system off I still get air coming through the vents and wondered if I had left a few...

I am hoping to analyze the strange shrudder problem that happens when I turn the heat ON in the car. It has a V6 Turbo engine. I have noticed this few times, not always, but am puzzled as to what would cause this. The car runs fine most times but few times while driving if I turn the heat on the...

Below is my original post about the water leaking from the rear vents when AC is on. To dry the carpet I cranked the heater on high, got side tracked cleaning the garage and an hour later I found this on the rear passenger side floor! It does not have the smell or texture of antifreeze. "I...

pass seat on a 2001 2.3. Switch is good (swapped 'em and found g and volts at pad connector), so I assume the pad itself. I've read that there are carbon fibre universal replacements that would do the job. Has anyone any pointers and experience.

Hi, Have a V plate 1999 2.0 9-3 vert which started to slightly hesitate under light acceleration (or rather throttle lift off and then light re-apply) in 5th on motorway -didn't think much of it to start with -just thought maybe revs were a little low and maybe I should have changed down! Like...

I recently posted that my climate control isn't working. Now i have no warm air at all coming into the cabin. the pipes leading from the engine into the cabin are warm but i cannot get any warm air from either using the climate control or the normal car fans. Please help as I am getting ready...

9-5 Estate 2005, but I guess they are all the same. The heat shield that sits above the middle silencer has become detatched, apart from one corner. It sits on the silencer and rattles, and may come off altogether at speed. There are 3 or 4 fixing 'studs' down each side, but the heat shield...

Saab 9000 Catalytic Converter Heat Shield Fix Just finished this and thought I'd post it up as a reference for others. My main symptom was a rattle between 1000-1500rpm that sounded like bolts in a pan being shaken around. Closer inspection revealed it to be the heat shield on top of the cat...

Now the weather is turning cooler I've started using the heater on my 2004 93 2.2tid. However it only blows hot when on the full HI setting. Any ideas anyone? BTW the engine is getting up to normal operating temp.

All, Thought I'd share this with you. I've just bought another 9K Anni after a lady driver thoughtlessly ploughed into my last one. This one is the FPT and all very nice in the purple/amethyst colour. But like my last one it too had the dreaded heat plate. So I tackled it this weekend, hoping...

Just picked up an OK T8 special edition, but it is missing the battery heat shield/clamp. There is a battery fitted that is just held down by the cables and the there is plenty of clearance, but I don't want to fry it or fail the MOT in September. Anyone got a good picture of the original in...
