I have just had the front springs replace on my '58 Aero ttid and now beleive that the springs fitted may have been too long. Can anyone please measure the gap from the top of the tyre to the wheelarch so I can see if the gap is different. Preferably if they have 18" wheels and 225/45 tyres on...

Hi, I was told couple of times and heard rumours that if we lower the spark's gap to 0.7-0.8 the car will run/start better, especially those cars LPG converted. I'm trying to find some info if there's any negative influence on the DI cassete if we do so. Saab instruction manual clearly says...

Which plugs do people recognmend, fitted ngk pfr6h10 which are pre gapped to 1mm. Fitted in car missfired like mad, checked old ngkpfr6h10 gapping and they were set to 0.85mm which is quite low. Gapped at 0.9mm missfire still present, regapped to 0.95mm seems o.k. What is the gapping on a 2003...

Hi all I've just paid a deposit on a 1999 9-3 convertible. There was a problem with the window on the driver side not quite closing properly (around 3mm gap between the glass and the rubber seal that is attached to the rear door). When I looked at the other side of the car it appears that the...

hi. does anyone know what the plug gap on my 1996 cs9000 turbo is. i have got a maintainance disc for the pc but it only shows the 2.3and the 3.0. my direct injection unit burned out yesterday, so i thought i would give the plugs a clean as the injection unit is off. the gaps on the plugs seem...

I've done a search and the thread I found said the plugs should be gapped at 0.7mm. I always thought the number in the spark plug code stood for the gap as supplied so this made sense. My Haynes manual says use Bosch (very funny spelling of NKG) with a 0.8mm gap (I think it's sponsored by them...

Is it just me, or have the new 9-5 models got a much thinner bonnet gap line than the older models?

Saab make fantastic cars. The 2008 Saab 9-3 in all its variations is a great machine and we’ve discussed at length on this site how a lack of advertising in the last few years has meant that Saab just isn’t on many people’s radar. I’ve come across a forum thread this morning that...

Hello all, can anyone offer some advice here? I had my air con regassed about 7 months ago and it's been running fine I think. Recently, however, just as the hot weather kicks in it's not been working. I've had a good read around, and I've elected to lessen the air gap on the compressor...

I have a 2.3 turbo fitted with BCPR7ES-11 plugs which are pre-gapped to 1.1mm. I have read on another forum that these should be set to 1mm or less. Should I change the gap - what problems will I have if I leave as is ?

My driver's door does not close as far as it should. Its about 1/8" from contacting the weather stripping. To adjust how far the door closes does one need to adjust the latch on the door or the catch on the body? Thanks!

Just a question out of curiosity really. On my '89 2.0 FPT, with a red DI cartridge, the handbook recommends a plug gap of .9 to 1.0. Later cars using the same red DI appear to use a gap of 1.1. Did Saab find that 1.1 was better for the DI or are later cars with the 1.1 recommendation...

Hello all. Following BillJ's excellent writeup of adjusting the air gap on the A/C clutch plate, I do have one question. I have the 5mm screw off. How hard should it be to remove the clutch plate from there? I don't want to pry too hard and damage something. Thanks, mike
