  1. Saab 9-3 Sedan/Combi/TurboX/AWD(2003+)/Conv(2004+)
Hi All, So the clutch has started slipping in my 2008 9-3 Turbo X XWD after 66k miles. I get the feeling that a lot of the components for the 280BHP version were not up to the task of the performance model (for example, the car is on its 3rd steering pump, I think due to the load of the wider...

What do you guys suggest to improve the shifting feel of the 6-speed manual gearbox? I don't really want to get the short shifter (I'm happy with the stock throw, and it is rather expensive), but don't know of any other ways to improve the notchiness of the stock mechanism. I have seen the...
  3. Classic Saab 900 (1979 - 1993)
Hi Due to work and time pressures I've had to send my 1990 900 to Saab to get a new ignition barrel fitted (the last suddenly appeared along with the key after filling up). I had a call yesterday to say that given the console was out would I like a new bulb fitted to the gearshift display...
  4. Help, Advice, Saabs and Motoring
Hi All, I own a 2008 9-3 2.0T, and my friend owns a 2007 9-3 2.0T sport combi (anniversary edition). Is there any drastic change to the power steering between the two models? The 2008 has lighter steering and not nearly as much feeling when you hit a corner, compared to the 2007 which gives you...

I'm just on a bit of a Tid downer....Theres probably a medical term for it ;) The only thing it does, that it shouldn't, is make a bit of a noise from the nsf wheel area pon occasion...... when turning left...... Sounds like the tin guard behind the disc is about to grind..... But it...

Hi our family just bought our 1st Saab and just put the plates on it yesterday :) I confess I am feeling challenged by the electronics.. Can someone please explain how I adjust the balance on the speakers as well as the Bass, etc. It has a CD player AM/FM 6 speaker stereo system and...
  7. Classic Saab 9-5 (1997 - 2009)
Hi folks, Well.... my MY01 9-5 2.0t has lost power. It's slow and, when you wind the revs up a little, doesn't speed up much at all. If I try to put my foot down a bit, the gearbox kicks down and just sounds laboured. Often the CEL light comes on. If I do the fuse 17 trick and drive carefully...
  8. Classic Saab 9-5 (1997 - 2009)
Hi, I have a 2000 9-5 Aero Estate with 90k on the clock. Both the indicator stalk and wiper stalk feel really clicky and loose.. The indiacator stalk also can be a real pain time and sometimes you have to hold it up or down to indicate. Is there a fix or do i need buy a new pair??? Many...
  9. Classic Saab 9-5 (1997 - 2009)
I have just done a fluid replacement( I think) and am not sure if its right.I cant remember how it felt and looked before the change. It feels as if its about half way before its fully in.The brakes seems to be stopping ok, even locking up.Just wondered if its right. I know it depends on the...
  10. Tyres, Wheels, and Brakes
My car is a 1999 now done 130,000 miles, I just gave it a new leash of life, its had an engine swap (80,000 mile engine) new wheels and eibach springs. My only complaint now is the brakes dont feel that good, if I press the pedal hard it will stop ok but the pedal feels spongey. I was thinking...
  11. Saab 9-3 Sedan/Combi/TurboX/AWD(2003+)/Conv(2004+)
My 2005 Tid is the first car I have owned with ABS brakes. What does it feel like when the ABS engage? I'm a bit worried about worn brake pads as the brakes feel like they're grinding a bit but only on an emergency stop so I'm wondering if this is how the ABS feels when it kicks in.
  12. Saab 9000 (1984 - 1998)
I've recently been experiencing the above. When releasing the clutch sometimes the last mm or so of pedal travel releases it's self. I'm concerned as it's not the norm, and may get worse. Rarely it releases earlier causing the clutch to engage With a new clutch and slave 2 years ago I...

Ok this one has a story to it, but I felt some members might appreciate the post as it may help them out: I go to get my front to tires changed [they were heaviliy damaged due to major alignment issues] at a shop with the car in the condition that I considered "normal". Get back into the car...

  17. Saab 9000 (1984 - 1998)
Dear all I was wondering if you can give me a few clues on this one. At relatively high speed, approx 70-80 mph, there appears to be a sort of looseness in the steering wheel feel. Car is a 1995 Aero which has just passed it's MOT with no problems so I assume that nothing is badly worn down...
